We specified a Mr-Glass impact-rated garage door with 14-gauge reinforced track, impact-rated glazing in the top section, and wind load certification to FBC TAS 201. The project ran $4,600 including the new torsion spring assembly and automatic opener reprogramming. We documented the track fastener torque values, the spring balance test, and the final wind load sticker placement.
Custom Geometric Window: Long Lake Ranches Entry Feature
The previous owner had boarded over this trapezoid opening after Hurricane Wilma, and the current owner wanted the original architectural detail restored. We templated the opening with a digital sightline measurement, sent the geometry to ViewLux for factory verification, and specified insulated laminated glass with a warm-edge spacer to prevent condensation in Davie’s humidity. Full-Envelope Impact Upgrade: Pine Island Ridge Condo Conversion
